when I install apps on my Acer 5315-7315 anything like drivers etc the words guiding me through the install like: back, next, finish or cancel is white. I can hardly read it can I change that somehow?
It's not a brightness issue either. On my desktop PC the words are black so I don't understand why they are white on the laptop.

What OS do you have?
For Vista: Go to Control Panel->Personalization->Windows Color and Appearance. Click on "Open classic appearance properties for more color options" then click on Advanced. Click on the "OK button" from the picture, below, under "Item" should appear "3D Objects" and some colors on the right. "Color 12 should be white or gray something similar, "Color" have to be black.
For XP: It's the same but easier, rightclick on the desktop then click on "Properties". Go to "Appearance" then click on Advanced and check the colors for the "3D Objects".
Maybe you've installed and then uninstalled a theme or something that screwed up the colors. -
This is strange. Color 1 was white then on the bottom color was black. So I change color 1 to gray and then change black to another color hit apply. Then I change it back to white and black and hit ok and now the text is back to normal.
Very strange. Thanks for your help by the way I am using Vista. -
Yeah some software you've installed recently probably messed up some of the colors. Good to hear you got it fixed.
Cheers
I know this is strange but I can't see words when installing
