A few weeks ago my father offered to have my Acer Aspire 5101 repaired by some computer repairs people he knows. I took up the offer as a birthday present and left it to them. They got in contact with Dad who then passed on the message that to repair a hardware fault they had wiped the hard drive and installed some anti-virus software![]()
When I got it back the software that had come with the machine for looking after the power settings, that let you run at a lower speed when your battery's low for example, and managing the touch pad had both gone. The cretins hadn't even bothered to find any sort of replacement for them despite me asking them to.
Can I get this software from any other source? My laptop is over two years old and I can no longer read the serial number under the body to email Acer for help.

You can download the Acer E-Management software as well as the missing drivers from Acer's website.
More info would be helpful... What model laptop do you have? Which OS? etc... -
You can find software for your acer product here:
http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/downloads.html
should be able to find what you need here. -
Did you tell them , that you will had an extra bonus for them ??
All dads wish to keep the cost to minimum , so do not blame people, that easy. -
just download what ever software you need from
support.acer-euro.com
the FTP site may have MORE SOFTWARE than the HTTP driver/software download.
