So, it's been a couple of weeks now and STILL I cannot get bluetooth file sending to work.

It's with the acer 8943G with Atheros bluetooth 3.0+HS. It works fine with headsets but cannot send/receive files like my old dell.

I get the errors "bluetooth peripheral device driver not found". It's very annoying. I've reinstalled the driver from acer support to no luck and finding drivers on atheros website is plain impossible, getting errors that "the page does not exist". .

Well, if you want to receive file from other to your laptop, you should do following.

Turn on the Bluetooth using Bluetooth switch, then right-click on the Bluetooth icon in system tray (right corner of the taskbar), then choose receive file(s) and it should work very fine...

    Cheers

    Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately no "receive files" option when right clicking but going through BT file transfer option and clicking "receive files" and then sending files over causes "unable to connect" error on phone.

The phone is ok on other machines and doesn't require them to be set to receive. Just send by BT and the file appears in folder.

    Hi,

    you may try this:
Make sure your phone is paired with your computer.
Double click on the BT icon in the notification area in order to get the devices list.
Then select your phone in the list and select the "properties" option. Check the "services" tab if all needed options are enabled.

Next. Double click on the symbol of your phone to see the configuration dialog. Especially the "allowances" and the "file transfer" settings should be looked at.
