    Hi
I wonder if i can use expresscard/34 in a expresscard/54 on an Acer Aspire 6935G?
    Someone who has tried?
I am looking for a better network card than the one sitting in my computer (Intel 5100 HUSK) not functioning fully, can not get the 150-270 Mbit / s. but it's on 65 Mbit / s.

But the reality with my 2920 was that the card fitted, but was so wobbly in the slot as to be utterly impractical. The same applied to the Advent machine with a similar slot.

I got advice here to buy a "wing" for it off ebay, and did so. The wing fills in the gap and does make the card much more stable in the slot, but it's still far from perfect. I was fitting a firewire card in the slot, which has quite heavy cables attached, but a network card might be similar.

I think the expresscard concept remains mechanically seriously flawed. What may work in a lab is hopeless out in the average field/home use.

    Sorry to be so negative.

Some laptop manufacturers produce ExpressCard/34 only slot, while other produce the 34/54 variant. Thus it would also be impractical to drop either one of the 34 or 54 Expresscard design.
However, I am not saying that you are arguing this fact. I'm just providing a little information.

It is possible to use the 34 in a 54 slot, there is an adaptor you can get which will stop it from moving. I'll try and do some digging and find it, as this has been posted about before.

As billaboard already said, it's called "wing" :)
