Hi, it seems that turion and dual core are the latest and aces from AMD and INTEl respectively. But is it wise to compare them in different aspects?
If it is, please do it so we can make better decision between acer ferrari, 5024, 4402, 4404 and 5003 with turion and 5672 with dual core. Thanks.

It depends what you want to use the notebook for...

Dual core is good for multitasking whereas turion 64 will run a hell lot faster with programs/ games that support the 64 bit feature.

I would personally go for the dual core

Well, dual core is probably the future. if you can wait then check out the dual core Turions which are estimated to be released by May. The DC Turions will be competing with the Core Duo and is more of a better comparision than comparing a single core cpu vs a dual core. If you are buying now get the laptop with a good overall package rather than just concentrating on the cpu. You have listed a whole range of Acer's AMD based systems from the low end 5003 to the top of the line Ferrari.

The 5672 is a pretty good value for what it offers as well. I would suggest that you narrow your range depending on whether you need a good graphics card, RAM, HDD space and battery life before deciding on which cpu might allow you to have the best of everything.

Core Duo is better than all the other mobile CPUs right now in every way, all of the time. It lacks 64 bit support but that is coming later this year.

Having said that ther may be other factors that are important to you other than CPU, but it is a good place to start.

If you're looking for battery life, the Low Voltage Core Duo is the only way to go without sacrificing speed.....
