Some WILL DEFINATELY be missing. My best advise to you, is to burn the recovery DVDs using the utility that comes with the notebook.

You won't miss any drivers, all drivers are on the acer site, in fact, you don't want to use the drivers that came with your laptop, they are outdated. Get them from the european FTP, as they are the most up to date: ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_5920/vista/

What you will be missing if you delete the recovery partition, is the vista that came with your laptop. So, if you haven't burned recovery discs, do so.

    Edit: typo

What if i delete the partitions and do a installation of XP SP1, would that be a problem or be difficult with my Acer Aspire 7720G?

have you burnt your dvd's ?

if you delete all the partitions before you burn the dvd's vista has gone and the d2d recovery partition. so FN+F10 is no more, gone.
and will need to get this checked.you could void the warranty but not sure on that yet.

burn both dvd's one is the os(vista) the other is the apps with all the drivers

besure to make the DRIVERS AND APPLICATIONS cd's or DVD.....

it sounds like that is your only concern anyway...
2 cds or 1 DVD if you have a dvd burner... solves all your problems... but i'd do as hoggie suggests and make the Factory image CDs or DVDs also, just incase.
