    Hi,

I'd like to have a higher fps with my notebook, but for some reason while playing WoW i'm capped at 60hz, now i checked the options and couldn't find any way to put it on 70 or 75...

    Any solution?

Look in WoW settings, because refresh rate is for the old monitor. ACL screen do not use hz, it uses ms. I know it's not clear, but even if it says 60hz, I know it can go up to the equivalent of 120hz

I've not been able to set my refresh rate above 60 Hz, nor have I found a need to.

Hz is a throwback from CRT's and refers to the amount of times the screen is refreshed per second, ie 60hz means 60 times a second. LCD's don't refresh at all, they refer to the response time of a pixel (ie 5ms) to change color. It's only even shown in Windows for compatibility reasons. This means there is no reason and no benefit from changing the refresh rate, even if you could. The only downside I've ever come across is that if you turn on vsync in a game it will lock the fps to 60 max.

All LCD screens, regardless of size/manufacturer state 60hz as the refresh rate, though windows can give the option for 59hz for some reason. There was a spate of so called 100hz LCDs a while back but as the above is true that was more a sales gimmick than anything.
