I tried searching for this topic, but couldn't really find anything concrete.

I recently got the Windows 7 upgrade kit from Acer in the mail. However, I have the timeline 3810tz (no dvd drive). How did Acer expect us to go about installing this? I know there is a way to put Win7 on a USB but it is tedious. I was wondering if there is any other way besides external dvd drive?

Also, how is the battery life lasting on Win 7? I've read it isn't as long compared to running under Vista. Currently I get anywhere from 6-8 hrs on a full charge.

    Thanks for the help!

Its pretty easy to stick windows 7 on a USB stick, i never found it that difficult, i thought omg ugh 12 steps (the guide i used had 12) this is gonna be a drag but they were pretty quick steps.

It installs much faster from USB than any optical drive too, so in the future if you want to reinstall or anything USB will be much faster.

It's very, very easy: Microsoft released a tool that creates a bootable USB stick, but it was yanked from their site for violating some stupid open source agreement.

PM me and I can email it to you.

Otherwise, you can look for a program called WinToFlash that does the same thing.

7 runs great on my 751.....really, really well. Battery life was slightly increased too.
