Hi all ... I have an Acer Aspire laptop 5749z-4861 model .. Because this laptop has a Secure Digital slot for those SD Cards , I was wondering if its possible to install a windows installment ( W7 ) onto a SD card and boot / load from it ? Thanks

What's the point? It would be terribly slow.
I actually don't even think it's possible. -
I looked into that a few years ago (with CF cards, but SD should be the same). IIRC you have to modify the card so that it does not appear as a removable device. Also, at some point in the Windows installation it has to shut down the USB ports to load drivers which, of course, stops the installation. You have to modify Windows so that it won't shut down the USB ports, or use an adapter which makes your SD card work like a hard drive and mount it in your hard drive bay.
You may be able to find solutions online if you're really intent on pursuing this, but as Joel says it would be terribly slow. Windows 98 or older maybe ok this way, I don't think you'd want to use anything newer. -
Thanks for the responds , though I'm not concern with the speed . I was just wondering if it could be done . Thanks again
