    Hello friends,

Every time I try to boot my laptop it gives me a message ' Remove disks or other media. Press any key to restart'. There is no CD/DVD in the drive or other media attached..the funniest part is, I have got no back up or recovery disk. I understand in short my laptop is f****d up. I have found a disk which has got 11 ZIP file viz., Acer eDataSecurity, eLockManagement and others.. I have tried to boot it with a Win XP Pro x64, but the laptop said I would need a 32bit version.. I have organized a Win XP Pro x32, the CD is working as boots my friend's laptop but when I give a CD boot to my laptop..it gives me a blank screen and doesnt moves anywhere.. I have also tried Alt+F10 and it didn't work either..does anyone know anything different which I can try and make my Acer Laptop work.. It is very important for me to make my laptop work, before anyone in my house finds this out..Help appriciated..

    Regards

Try going in the BIOS and enabling dsik (sic) to disk recovery. You should have a recovery partition on the drive, unless you removed it. Also try hitting F12 while its booting, mine gives me a list of bootable devices, select optical with the xp cd in the drive.
