Well, I just set up a dual boot on my 5315 between Vista and XP, and it was sooooo easy, so if anyone else is hesitating about doing it, then dont, just follow the guide here: http://soulpass.com/2007/11/10/inst...essional-sp2-on-acer-aspire-5315-2153-laptop/

And if you want too keep vista then just install xp on a different partition like I did.

I can see what you mean about the performance now bigO, it's soooo much faster.

Hey BigO, i have a question, with bios 1.18 (cba to update cos i had no problems in vista), does the Fan not come on after sleep/standby, because it did in vista, but didnt in xp (just checked 10 mins after coming back from standby in xp and they were at 91 celcius) I fixed this quickly by downloading ik8fangui, but does bios 1.34/1.4/1.42 fix this?

versions 1.33 and higher have the fan problem fixed for sure...
not too sure about earlier versions..

i've been using BIOS ver 1.43... it just came out a few days ago.. but i've been testing it a bit longer ;)

    i'd recommend 1.42 or 1.43

    support.acer-euro.com

just do the WINFLASH from inside XP....
i've flashed mine 50 times i bet... and never had a problem

the XP DISK CREATION and INSTALL is exactly the same...

make sure to install the REALTEK SOUND DRIVER FIRST...
and as for other drivers i don't know where they are,, but there are other users DUAL-BOOTING and some running XP only.. so drivers are out there

i think i;ve seen links here at NBR
