Hi guys, used this website a few times for queries regarding my laptop but never registered so heres my 1st post..

I have a travelmate 2410 and would like to install an internal wireless card as the card slot on the laptop isn't working anymore. After removing the cover on the back, i see it has the space to fit an internal card however I cant see any antenna cables...

I know internal wireless was a factory option but mine wasnt installed with it. Does this mean there is no antenna at all i.e its not taped out the way somewhere? Or is the antenna built in somewhere and i dont need to attach antenna wires to the inernal card?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Cheers

in ur notebook, there would be 2 cables runnin down from ur screen into the motherboard for the wireless card to connect to. the 2 cables are black and white. if u can find them, then u can just get a card, if not then u would have to get the card and the cable/antenna! hope this helps!

    Thanks for the reply,

I cant see the cables for antenna so it seems to me that if the internal wireless wasnt requested as an optional extra the antenna wasnt installed. Seems daft as the slot is there for the card itself. Is it a nightmare to fit an antenna? I think my only option is a USB wireless adapter...
