I just got my Acer Aspire 5102 WMLi, after reading the specs of stock 512 memory... I want to upgrade to 2 gigs.

The rep from tiger direct, stated that it can handle 2 gigs of DDR2 200-pin SO-DIMM.

So I purchased two sticks of 1GB of CORSAIR Value Memory. $119 a piece.

I easily install the first 1GB into the memory compartment. Now where is the other location for memory on this laptop?

Or was I suppose to buy a single 2GB?
Or wait... now Im reading that it accepts 4 GB?

Thanks in advance for your replies...this is my first post...and from this laptop. hehe!

1.) I think it might be under the keyboard, not sure.
2.) You purchased the correct memory.
3.) You can install 4 GB but windows can only address 3.25GB
    4.) welcome to the forums!
5.) I've hear that TigerDirect is not a good place to buy from, how was your experience? If you don't mind sharing, that is!

    Thanks for the welcome.
First off Acer's website is hopeless... I have a 7MB up stream 1 MB down cable connection...and their site is slow as watching grass grow.

I cant find any information about "HOW" to get at the memory if it is infact under the keyboard... I certainly do not want to mess it up on DAY 1.

Tiger Direct was a pleasure... I had my items shipped to an alternative shipping address and it was no problem. New Egg...sucks... my order sat at "step 1" verification for 4 days... I canceled the order... and saved $$.

nope.. both go into the same memory compartment. I barely saw the other two tabs for holding another dimm in place.
    they stack up nicely. 1.89GB of ram now...Corsair Value Select 1 GB DDR2 200-Pin SO-Dimm 533

There are 2 memory slots at the same location. They are bunched closely together, i missed it the first time too.
