Anyone else had this problem....
For a little while now occasionally when I boot windows I get a BSOD before windows actually loads, I can then reset (sometimes a few times) and it will work just fine, the number given is 0xC0000005 0x00000000 .... (not sure what the others are, can't remember)
I'm wondering vaguely if it's BIOS 3315 that's causing the issue (I just updated to 3319 just in case) unfortunately it doesn't seem to make an error dump file (even though I have it checked) it's also not referencing anything else (no drivers or files listed as having an issue) and it doesn't put a entry in the system log (so basically it acts like the error never happened). I'm a bit stumped at this point, I've done some searching and can't find the exact error anywhere, or even really close, best "guess" seems to just be "hardware issue" but if that was the case I would assume I would notice something not working, when the machine DOES boot it runs perfectly.
Anyone else hit this issue, or have any advice.. beyond "send it back to ACER to attept to diagnose"

Have you tested your memory yet?

Yeap, Ran Memtest86 for serveral passes, no problems found

hmmm by chance does your computer have integrated graphics? if so can you change how much you can allocate to shared in your bios? i remember in my old laptop if i put shared ram past 64MB it would give me this error message similar to this, or i would get the blue screen of death
good times.

Nope, it's got the ATI X1600 and no options in the bios to change what the ram allocation is for it (think it can use dynamic ram, can't remember, never seen any options for it though).
I might just have to try another fresh install and see if that fixes it, but it seems very odd that it only seems to happen at times, and as I said, once the computer gets into windows everything seems to work flawlessly (I've had 0 issues after I get into the PC) -
Okay, so further to my issue something that randomly sprang to mind, so now when I boot my 8204 I always boot it with the CD drawer ejected, this so far has cause the BSOD to stop completely....
Which makes me wonder if my CD/DVD drive is going to start failing... hmm now even tried to take that part out yet, but if I recall it's supposed to be changable, might have to look into that more.
Anyway, for anyone else getting a random BSOD when booting, try that, see if it helps.
