    Is Acer good and Quick

    Hi

    My B/F wants to buy a second hand Acer lappie.

    I told him rather to buy a new one cause I heard that most second handed Acers are fiddled with and that makes them slow.

    He is a computa expert and says that he will just reform mat it and we will save money.

    So he will make it Quick like a new one.

    What should I do

    Typically any time you format and reinstall an OS using disks other than the manufacturers restore it ends up better.

    I'd trust him.

    OS stands for Operating System - like Windows XP or Vista.
    It just means to turn the system into a relative clean slate.

    Oh..Thats why our puter guy always turns mine off for me.

    He's nice though. He says if I do it won't work tomorrow :confused:

    Im just a typist. And a good one too. Even if I have to say it myself.

    Put me at a keyboard and I am fine. The OS and stuff is beyond me.

    I just hope Jerry knows what he is doing.....

    I still think we should get a new lappie (he will be using it most though)

    Just gotta be more savvy about your computer, with what program to run, what to kill with hijackthis, what virus software to update with, when to defrag your harddrive...etc..but then I'm getting too technical, and it might blow your brains out....
