    Hi all.

Just wondering if it is possible to replace the GPU chip in my Acer Aspire 7720G-302G32Hi Laptop?
Would like to know if it possible.

And also, where can i find a unlocked BIOS for it?
So i can change clock speeds etc.

    Thanks in advance guys. ;)

NO you CANNOT upgrade the video card, it is PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE.

For lack of a more detailed explanation:
    1. There are 2 models, one with 8400, on with HD2600, who knows if they are interchangeable.
    2. It hasn't been reported of being MXM compatible.

    Don't get your hopes up.

Also, an upgrade from a 8400GS to a 8600GS/GT that is MXM is extremely difficult to find, and costs around $400-500.

I don’t know from where xtyfyb has such info. I just upgraded couple weeks ago my 8400gs to 8600m gt. Second things if you looking good thru ebay you can find 8600m gt for around $100+sh. The mxm is type II.
