Is it possible to use one set of Acer Recovery DVDs for several computers?

    Hi.

I have a question regarding Acer Recovery DVDs. If I buy several Acer laptops (same model), can I burn only one set of Recovery DVDs?

Provided they have 'similar' hardware the Recovery DVDs should work in all of them, right? But what about Windows? WGA?

I say similar hardware because I've seen 'equal' Acer laptops with slightly different hardware, for example my laptop originally had a Hitachi 4200RPM drive, but a friend's same model laptop has a Samsung 5400RPM drive (mine was bought first).

    Thanks.
    Joe.

If it is the same model, and you are using UNIQUE COA keys for each install, then one set of Recovery discs will work just fine. Just make sure to keep thing legitimate by using different COA keys.

What do you mean with COA? Certificate of Authenticity? Well, each machine should have its own but upon restoring the system none is required (at least I am not prompted to input any code).

also make sure full model name match up

    the end of model too

like 5050 -356 if end diffent change change hardare enought make need diffent set disk

some model start same but ends are diffent determ the os or harward gpu etc so if exactly same that you have no issues at all

I have no doubt the system would be correctly restored, my concern is about Windows behavior, specifically Windows Genuine Advantage. I wouldn't like my Windows licenses to be invalidated just because of my laziness to create one set of Recovery DVDs per machine. On the other hand, if I knew there is no problem at all in restoring from a single Recovery DVD set, I could save some bucks in DVDs (and space in my shelf).
