Well I'm not a Acer user, but out of some reason I dread them. Many previous models have been either overpriced or not well built. But I don't know about the current line. But you know how difficult it is to change consumer perceptions :p

ACER is great for getting a FAST processor, alot of RAM, and a decent sized Harddrive for a GOOD PRICE.

Just look at my sig, I paid less than $900 for it. Try getting those SPECS at Dell or Sony for under $900. Maybe HP if your lucky.

Quality & built on Dell, Sony ETC: is actually better than ACER. But these days, not to many keep laptops for over 2 yrs.

Acers are DECENT quality, but I WOULD NOT SUGGEST getting one if your going to travel with it EVERYDAY. Something WILL crack with excessive travel.

I would also go with SONY, ALIENWARE or DELL for good factory installed Graphics Cards.

FOR THAT PRICE, I WOULD GET THE PC IN YOUR LINK. DO GOOGLE REVIEWS ON IT TOO FIRST!!

I have a 5672, and really happy with that. Ppl was complaining about its heat problem, but for me it is around 40-42 as speedfan says with the factory settings, not formatted yet. Thus not much problem I think. Another problem in my head was its build quality. It is much more attractive than I expect. OK its not a Toshiba but its not 1500$+.

u can find a model with x1600 graphic card in the same price range.
just read the reviews for more info...

I would have preferred a MacBook Pro if I had unlimited funds, but, the ACER seems like good value for the money.A whole Gig of memory, Turion64 1.8 ML-34 processor on mine, spacious hard drive (a little slower, but I will trade that in for the extra size any day), everything works well. All for under $850 Canadian. My daughter heavily used a similar Aspire 3000 for more than a year as a university student. No problems whatsoever, and she doesn't exactly baby her computer.

I have the 5672 with the x1600 and it has been running strong since june. I love it and now with 2gb of ram its even better. But being a thin laptop it does get warm, but so do most laptops. I recomend it as Ive never had an issue with acer

if u travel a lot, dont look at acer 5672. Its a very fast notebook thats just not designed to be used that way. If you need a travelmate look at lenovo especially thinkpad, however, if u really like acer d travelmate series are good for u.

I have a 3623. My experience has been that Acer's ACPI is broken. The embedded controller is slow in responding to ACPI too. Other than that it's a solidly built laptop and it performs very well.

    hi mate

ive just bought this exact laptop from http://www.acernotebooks.co.uk/Acer_Aspire_5672WLMi_LX.AA705.165/version-1.asp. they appear to have put up the price there though because i only £640.

the overall build quality is not at bad as projected on here, yes the keyboard is a little flimsy but apart from that its not bad at all for the money if you ask me...

im currently running vista rc1 and everything is working fine except the 5in1 card reader, need to find a driver for that. but vista installed without a hitch really. Only change i made was upgradeding to ATI Catalyst Drivers for vista.

heat does seem an issue. mine has been running constantly for a 5 or so days now and it does get very warm, especially when you start to push it, but never fails to work.

my biggest problem (which is probably my fault anyway) is i didnt realise how quickly id use up the 80gb drive. 1st accessory is deffo gonna be a nice big usb drive.

overall im very happy with it and still cant see how i could have spent better.
