hey guys, everything is working fine with one exception, when I play movies it kind of jitters. That is to say it just doesn't play smooth. it is not intermitten, it does it aboutevery 5 seconds.

So you think the drive is bad?

it is a 4501WLMI that is still running great after 2 years!

    Thanks guys!!!

try to boot up from safe mode. and try playin the dvd there. it could be a third party software issue, but that's just an assumption ;)

Also check in your deivice manager(one of the IDE channels) if the drive interface has locked itself to PIO mode instead of DMA.
