    Is my laptop screen faulty?

    i have just bought a Acer AS5601AWLMI laptop.

    Have noticed in the bottom right corner where the clock is it seems darker almost smokey looking.

    Is this normal or is this a fault.

    Anyone any advice

    Probably blacklight bleeding, common in cheaper LCD displays (no offence!) where light manages to "escape" around the edges of the TFT causing a slight discolouration of the area.

    Its not like that. it is a small dark area in the bottom left hand side of the screen. round where the time is. It almost look like a black smudge.

    Pics?

    At a guess, could be that the panel is not secured properly so that portion of the screen is not getting any backlighting from the lamps, thus leaving the image without lighting and all dull and faded.
