My timing is horrible as I've been trying to order one for the last few days. However, both Newegg and J & R are showing it as discontinued or sold out. Acer's website still shows them as active models. Is the recall affecting availability? I would think that Acer would be supplying updated models built after September 15th. I'd really prefer a model with the fastest processor available (Duo). I see a new version with the SU7300 now on Acer's site, but it doesn't show bluetooth. Anyone have any inside knowledge?

    Thanks!

Yeah I also noticed that the 3810 series was taken off from newegg but I think it is due to the recall

Amazon has pre-orders open this morning but they don't have the dual core 3810 listed, darn it.

So, it seems like there will be no more SU9400 culv machines, though there is the SU7800 which seems to be the exact same thing.

I noticed the AS3810T-8737 with SU7300 on newegg today. Looks like it replaces the -6415.

FYI - This is back up at Newegg, but not sure how long it will last...
Great laptop, may be worth snagging even though it is discontinued.

    Thanks everyone.

Slower processor, and what appears to be no bluetooth, for $50 less. I don't see anything added to the -8737 to make it more attractive. Not sure that's such a great deal. Thinking I might have to jump on the -6415, as long as it's not subject to the recall.

You are correct on the lack of BT, and for the $50 difference it is definitely worth it.

Also, Windows 7 is coming out October 22nd. Retailers/Dealers aren't allowed to sell them until the 22nd, so many places are out of stock of the Vista versions while the W7 versions are sitting in a crate, waiting for the date to come.

Yep, that's the problem I've had with trying to get the -6415. So I've ordered an -8737. Not something I would typically do, but I found out that Costco is selling them! Can't go wrong with that. No hassle return policy (90 days full refund) and they double the warranty. Not to mention they are selling for $730. Here's the link.

Thanks everyone. May not have the bluetooth but I guess I'll make do. If not, back to the drawing board.

Believe it or not, Sears will also be selling this model (albeit at a much higher price - $799). Nice to see there are finally some options to go and see/touch/play the newer thin and light notebooks before buying them. Almost makes me feel bad about wasting the B&M sales guys' time... Ok, I'm over it. :D
