Hi all,
I have been looking into geting a laptop for around the £700 mark, and recently saw the aforementioned laptop. Is it any good? Are there any problems I should be aware of?
I would give a link, but the Acer site works on a codewhatsit so the link wont work for you :/
Anywho, anyone have any praise / horror stories?
thanks,
Bob

Hey Jimbob,
This unit is generally the non-widescreen model of the 4500 series. The 4500 series is a very popular model in these forums, along with the Travelmate 3200, Aspire 1680 & Ferrari 3200+ series. The users of the 4501 seem to like their units. Some users indicated the glidepad was a bit sensitive and the "mouse" buttons were a bit stiff, but that's mainly the biggest complaints. It also depends on what your needs will be for the notebook. I believe this model may come with an Intel Extreme 2 Graphics card (possibly an ATI 9700 in Europe). The Intel graphics cards are for less graphics intensive usage (web surfing, business apps, watching DVD's) and the ATI 9700 is an excellent graphics card that will do everything listed above, plus it will also do very graphics intensive apps/games.

The Intel Extreme graphics 2 cards are for less graphics intensive usage (web surfing, business apps, watching DVD's) + what i tested and run fine : Return2 Castle Wolfenstein, Desert Storm, Serious Sam1, Flat-Out demo (medium effects).
So if u are not a big gamer then still a good choice the integrated extreme graphics 2!
