    Is there a replacement battery with a longer life than the stock one which comes with the Acer 1714SMi?

    Have you tried asking Acer? If you can find a part number, you can search on Google.

    I was wondering if there was some after market type, as when I bought the laptop, the sales man from the store said there was none from Acer.

    Wouldn't recommend using a battery made by someone other than Acer.
