A lot of my friends were saying how Windows 7 was much more efficient thatn Vista, better looking, etc so I was like what the hell. I was planning to go back to XP since I was using Vista in Classic mode anyway, and I appreciate having a stable operating system which isn't a memory hog.

Well, I decided to use the Upgrade option, so I could keep all of my programs and settings, since I have no way to make a backup.

However, once it loaded I realized my sound wasn't working, and I was having trouble with my Wireless Internet.

The first problem is the LED light doesn't show up when it's on and off, which I noticed in some other posts people with an Acer Aspire ONE had. Furthermore, when I connect to a lot of networks which worked with Vista, it now shows "Local and Internet" and then goes to limited connectivity or Local only after that point.

I've deduced it must have something to do with drivers, for my Internet and sound problem, possibly a BIOS issue.

If someone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.
(The Internet problem is the main issue as I'm a student)

PS- I heard there was a way to revert back to Vista, as I think I remember the Windows 7 setup creating a backup. If I could access that I would accept that as a solution too.

The problems you are having won't be a bios issue, they are windows 7 related.

The drivers for the sound and wireless, are you using the ones that Windows 7 installed or have you used acer drivers?

It may be worth going to the device manufacturers webpage and downloading the latest vista drivers for the system.

Do you know what wireless card is in your system. We'll try and locate some up to date drivers.

Have you been into your sound manager within the control panel and made sure the settings are correct. If they are as they should be, download this, it's the latest Realtek driver for vista, (i've uploaded it megaupload as the realtek site sucks!!):

I went into the control panel and went under sound controllers or something it said something about Realtek and said it's working correctly. When I get home I'll try what you're saying.

Do you have any fixes for the Wireless problem? It's odd as I can see all of the networks and connect to them, but I am never able to go to a website.

You told me to get the latest drivers, but on some other sites it says to use old drivers...

If you know anything about the wireless issue, I'd appreciate it. I'll be sure to check when I get home and update the topic.
