Hi everyone, after reading all the posts I decided to go and get the 8204, regardless of all the negative posts. I needed something powerful and the only other one I was looking at was the IBM t60P but it had a 6 wk wait.

I'm pretty glad I did. I don't have any of the problems mentioned in any of the posts, and my computer did come with the 667mhz ram instead of the 533mhz. I purchased mine from buy.com for $2179, and it has a the new build of 06/03. The only thing I do agree with several people is that the screen isn't as bright as I wanted. I had a sony with xbrite so it really doesn't compare, but all in all, there is nothing wrong with the screen, I would prefer a little more brightness but nothing that would make me return the computer

I'm goign to be doing a lot more testing and will keep you guys updated but so far everything looks good. I haven't tried the VIOP phone yet also.

candyman, what is the manufacturing date of your laptop? I'm wondering if the new ones are coming with 667mhz memory (and how can you tell if they are 667 vs 533 anyway).

I have yet to buy one yet, but I plan to soon, despite the problems I'm hearing of.

Hey, my manufacturing date is 03/06. To find out if you have 667 or 533 you can either remove the RAM yourself but it is a lot easier to get this free program called CPU-Z, you can just google it to find it and it will tell you.

I got mine from buy.com and they were great and the computer doesn't have any problems like the other people said.

    Hope this helps.
