Specs here
My first impressions are it's totally worth the money. I've only had it for about an hour and a half so I don't many first thoughts but the keyboard is nice, build quality seems excellent, screen is beautiful, and just an amazing machine. I tried to take some pics but my camera isn't that great and unfortuantely the LCD is broken so I can't see what the picture is going to look like.
If you want me to take a picture of anything I can try or ask anything go ahead I'd be happy to answer. I'm thinking of doing a video in a few days and putting it up on YouTube because there isn't much about this laptop.

Did you get a free Windows 7 upgrade coupon?

Nice, I might get this.
-
It's a fine computer so far. Only problem is it comes with A LOT of bloatware. I'm going to run Vista for maybe a week or two but then I'll probably upgrade to the 7 RC like I did on my old computer.

Great to hear you are liking your Timeline so far Bobby. As far as the keyboard is concerned how do you think it compares to the original and unibody macbook? Do you encounter any flex when typing or is it pretty solid?
-
I'd call it a poor man's version of the Mac keyboard. They keys are very solid and there's nice feedback with sound and touch. They're smooth but not glossy and handle fingerprints very well. The things I find interesting about it are the tilda key on the number row is actually smaller than all the other keys, the 5 key has the euro sign on it (Don't know how to get that to type though), and the right shift is quite large. The arrows are pretty small as well but it's really no different than on the MacBook or probably most 13 inch notebooks.

Asked you in the other thread, but where did you buy this in the US? I've been trying to find a local store that has it but no luck. Did you get it from JR.com?
-
-
@kuri Yes, I did order on jr.com and was probably either the last or one of the last people to get one before they sold out.
@gtbuzz Gotta rep my school. -
MicroCenter here in Kansas City has four of these in stock according to their website.
$899 ... a bit too pricey for me, and a little too big, too, I guess. I want something to keep from carrying my Macbook Pro around all the time. Here's hoping the upcoming 11.6" CULV machine doesn't follow the trend of getting more expensive as they get smaller. -
-
I am considering this machine and would welcome your review and reactions after having had it for awhile!
Thanks! -
I got one and am really liking it. I got 5% cash back through Bing (via J&R).
It's a nice machine. It could be thinner but it is very light.
The SU9400 is the critical feature -- it has more than enough power to run Win7 very well.
Finally, the battery life is just awesome. I've measured it on the wall and it's using 22 Watts or less running in performance mode. That's great. -
yeah there's a real difference between su9400 and su2700... i sold my 4810tz mainly because it couldnot keep up with my needs... with su9400 its a breeze

^That could be an HDD prob. There is a thread somewhere on here of some guy who went thru four 4810T's and one of them had that hard drive defect.

i have a question for you Bobby. I was think about purchasing an Acer timeline 3810t yet one of my doubts was the fact that the touchpad buttons would be too stiff as I read in many reviews. Do you experience this problem or do you not find the mousepad buttons stiff at all?
also which processor did you get. because i do not know if i should go with the cheaper su2700 model or the slightly more expensive su4100 model -
Just got my Acer Timeline 3810T-6415!
