Well I bought this laptop yesterday not knowing about the typo. :( Beforehand I had also been looking at the 5102WLMi which has the AMD Turion 64 X2 and ATI graphics at Circuit City for $749.99. I am however happy with the rest of the laptop regardless of the Intel graphics. But I'm wondering if any of you think it would be a good idea to drop down to the 15 inch to get the ATI. I'm not that hardcore of a gamer but I like to keep my options open. The Turion doesn't seem to be as powerful to me as the Centrino Duo that I have but then again I'm not too sure when it comes to laptops. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The processsor that is in that particular laptop, isn't actually as good as the Core Duo which have the 667 Mhz FSB. It's only got a 533 FSB, and clocks at 1.6 Ghz. The Turion, depending on clock speed, would probably be just as fast. The graphics in the Acer aren't all that good either.

It depends on yourself, if you can live with a 17", as oppsed to 15.4" of the Acer.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I guess I'll stick with the one I have now. I'm not going to be doing much gaming anyway. Thanks for the info.

I have a TL-52 Turion X2 and it beats the T2400 in most tests, however, the upgrade on the Intel Core Duo to Core 2 Duo is what you should wait look out for. Intel has AMD beat until AMD comes out with Quad Core.

I don't think that multiple cores are going to help at all, unless the software can support them. Intel has already begun work on there quad cores, and have 8 cores on the roadmaps. AMD is also doing well, and there architecture will play the greatest role in performce. The number of cores though, will stay two for a while yet. I find it hard to belive that the TL-52 can beat a T2400.

I have a 5102, and I would like Zero to know that its clock speed is 800, not 533, at least that was what the specs said. But you are right in that it is a WHOLE lot slower than an Intel Duo. Super Pi came in at 2 min 11 sec for 2M digits. If you are looking for a 5102, I'm almost finished with the review which I will submit to NBR.

Sorry if i didn't make myself clear, but i meant tht the Acer 9441AWSMI has an FSB of 533 Mhz. The actual clockspeed is much more. Excure my bluntness, but how do you have a clockspeed of 800. Is that when its on power saving?

My bus is 800, but my clock is 200. Sorry about using the wrong term.
