Sometimes while I use my laptop, the keyboard suddenly freezes and doesn't respond to what I press. If i do press keys, when the keyboard unfreezes about 5 seconds later they all appear in quick succession.
This is very annoying and I'm wondering if it's a virus, common problem or hardware malfunction. Also what would be the best way to fix it?

You could check to see what processes are running in the background while this is happening. Just press control+alt+delete, and see what is running when your keyboard goes out. Also look to see what your system resources are at. Does this just effect the keyboard or does the mouse hang up as well? If it is just the keyboard you might try looking to see if there are any driver updates for the keyboard off the Acer site.

It's just the keyboard. And it usually happens pretty randomly and when it happens, I can't get the Task Manager up to check what's running.

I think you just have a process lag. yout computer is trying to do many things at once, cause it to delay a bit. I think your keyboard is fine.
