    Hi everyone.
I was listening to music with headphones when the fire alarm went off in my building today. I jumped up, but forgot that my headphones were still on. This ripped out the headphones, bending the tip. The jack is now really lose and sound no longer comes out of the speakers, it only comes out when headphones or my stereo is connected. This is not that big of a deal for me, as I usually use headphones or my stereo, but it might suck not having speakers at a later date. I'm a CS student, not an engineer, meaning I have decent soldering skills and such, but am not stupid enough to try SMD soldering. I think whatever part of the jack that mutes the internal speakers must be damaged. My question is does anyone know where to get a replacement jack without buying a motherboard and how difficult would it be to install? Or should I sell my computer and get a Aspire AS5520 for $800?
    Thanks

Love the nickname am pretty sure on that model it mount right on mainboard

Install it will be more issue i don,nt think have much torblue finding one

Just looked at 5050 mainboard i had beside they dam small solder points you problay wound,nt want to atemped unless you good with smd stuff

if you look side jack maybe you can figure out what sorting it out at least enough get internal speakers working

Worth a shot if you techinal skilled or take to good electronic shop they shound have no issue swap the plug

I wound say find one that will to do that work it only cost $150

Give it shot I wound say worse you can do break mainboard then you at leasted try before you get self new machine :>

If you do take it apart just take time label every thing and it will be easy

If you took apart you cound also find out where it sorting out even if you do do not try replace jack you cound problay fix you internal speakers

Thanks. Someone linked me to a service manual, which informed me that all the audio ports are located on a daughterboard, TOUCHPAD BOARD W/AUDIO PORT, ZB1 TP&AUDIO BOARD ASSY S/P, 55.AA7V7.001. I'm less afraid to try soldering on it now, but does anyone know were I can get this part from? I googled the model number, found one site selling it for $41.95 in canada, and another selling it for €14.78, but they require a €100 or greater sale for sales out of France. Sadly, I live in the USA, so I dont think either option would work for me.
    Thoughts? Thanks

I called Acer, they don't have the part, but they told me to call Grand Tech, which sells it for $85 shipped. Maybe I can find some more people around who need parts to get over the $100 mark for the Europarts.com site.

    Hello,

I have a question. Someone put the better speakers in acer 5670 - for example from toshiba (with good bass)?
