Wonder what LCD brand your Acer laptop has. My TM4202 has 15" matte LCD made by AUO. It is not as sharpe as Thinkpad T43 but good enough if not watching too closely (i.e. more than 2 feet from screen).

My Aspire 5024 has 15,4'' 1280x800 CrystalBrite produced by LG Philips.
    Very good one :)

If you can get a copy of Layasys Everest it'll give you a comprehensive rundown of your panel. Here is my info.

    Panel - AU Optronics B154EW01 v9
    Manufacture Date - Week 1 / 2005
    Serial No - N/A (Boooo!)

Then you can type in the Panel model number into Google to find some even more info!

    Brightness - 180Nits
    Viewing Angles - 80\40
    Contrast - 300:1
    Refresh - 16ms

Neat, mine had an LG/Philips but yours is better. AU Opt is an Acer company.
