    Hi,
I purchased an Acer Travelmate 8104 last year for my daughter whom is off at college. There is an intermittent problem with the LCD and the image quality. The screen will sometimes start to change colors and the image will become very fuzzy, sometimes vertical lines will form and sometimes even it will go dark. At firtst I was thinking of an LCD replacement ($425 for the part), I am now thinking that she might have a loose connection or video card issue. If you push on the lower right hand corner under the keyboard you can get the image on the screen to change and or start the problem to occur. I opened up the top as much as I could, but could not quite get the whole upper cover removed (out of warranty). I did not see any apparent loose connections. Might any of you out there have any ideas to my symptoms?

Thanks for any help or comments
    Brad.

i have a very old travemate that started to do that last year.
it was a heat issue. the pad that was being used had dried up.some new compound and it was fixed.not sure if your having the same problem but it does sound like it.
check to see if the fans covered in dust.
