without knowing the consequences, i accidently stored a fully charged battery for almost 3 weeks, but yesterday when i attached it to my laptop, my laptop wont turn on. it is as if it cant supply power. i attached the ac cord to see if it was discharged but it wasnt, even windows recognizes it as fully charged. but again the battery cannot supply power to the laptop

is there anyway to save my battery or do i have to buy a new one

I think you have a defective battery. Leaving it 100% charge for even a copule years won't magically kill the battery.

Calibrating the battery(full discharge then charge) can be done by the BIOS(if your BIOS has that option of course) or by some software. But if your laptop doesn't work with the battery inserted I don't see you can make a calibration.

Ok clarify something for me. You said that the laptop won't turn on but then you say that Windows recognizes it as fully charged? So the laptop does work with the battery inserted and the adapter plugged in but it doesn't boot if you try to boot with the battery only?

yup and if i do turn it on with the AC, the momment i pull out the ac cord it immediately turns off, even with the battery on

it holds charge but is unable to supply it

*the laptop boots no problem, it just wont turn on with just the battery*

Not really sure what to suggest here.

I guess you can try this old trick: remove the battery, unplug the powercord and press the power button for like 30 seconds. Then put it all back on and try to boot.

I did some research but all I can find points to faulty battery..
