Has anyone installed Linux on their TravelMate 3000? I just ordered one and will be configuring it for dual-boot, Windows XPP and Fedora Core 3. I was wondering if anyone encountered any problems installing Linux on their TravelMate. I have no experience with Acer computers, all my previous laptops have been IBM, HP, Fujitsu or Dell - so I don't know if they use any non-standard HW which will require special drivers for the Linux kernel.

You should have no problem with that! My experience with Linux on Acer lattop is very good, and Acer uses standard components in most of their products.

By the way, you may consider Fedora Core 4 to install in your new Acer. It's faster and has better and updated support for the Sonoma platform.

I have no experience installing Linux on laptop. Will there be any problem installing on the non-standard resolution? I am worrying about the display driver. Thanks.
