How do I know what Orbicam my laptop has?
I have this on My Computer:
![]()
and in Device Manager this:
![]()
And one more thing... Is there any way to stop windows to automatically install Oribicam's driver? Because everytime when I uninstall the driver, in couple of seconds windows will detect the webcam and automatically install a driver. The problem is that with windows drivers the camera is very very slow and there is no way to do something.
Anyone can help me please?

acer use the bisonbar drivers and thy only use two cam's.
on mine Aspire 7110 i have the orbicam useing the bisonbar software.you may need to uninstall all cam drivers then go to the Acer site and download the new drivers.what pixel is your cam mines the lower one not the 1.3meg. -

you need to check msconfig, startup and check to see if the camara is set to startup when you start your pc !
mine was but i stopped it, bisonbar.exe is the one i stopped -
it installs without a promt. i get that small window Found New Hardware which first says that there is a new USB Video Device and 3-4 seconds after, that small popup says "Your new hardware is installed and ready to use".
i checked msconfig/start and there is only ctfmon. a while ago i removed all other programs. -
ctfmon is an office file indexer if you don't use office its not needed.so its seeing your cam as a USB.strange......the other divce thing is an update for your realtek hd sound card.a windows update had a problem.there is a fix for it on the microsoft web site.......im going to find out what is going on with your cam if it kills me.! plug and play.if you disabled that in services. and then tryed the download from acer that mite over ride the windows need to load drivers....just a shot in the dark

if i disable plug and play the device manager window is empty... and from acer website i don't know what driver to download because i don't know if i have logitech or bison... i think i will leave it just like that.
thanks for your replies. -
the thing is that the cam works with yahoo messenger but it very very slow and dark. i thought that maybe if i install the correct driver i will be able to make it work properly but seems to be a complicated process so better i just forget about it...

best of luck chat soon -
thanks. -
I do not know how the hell to get the right drivers, am totally fed up of this. Acer should not be selling stuff that dont damm well work properly.

sometimes with Vista it see's the cam as a USB device which can leed you to loading the wrong drivers.
0.3 meg cam uses bisonbar drivers
1.3 meg uses logitech or suyin drivers.
vista OS. cam has a another driver, which works sometimes.
and you will need to download the application software.
sounds like loads but it's not that bad -
Can you tell me which is the right one please and link it.
Thanks x
Oh yeah i did bison one and it told me to plug in the camera via usb, my webcam is intergrated.
I hope this makes sense..Cheers -
I'm running the orbicam on XP Pro, using the logitech driver
Use the logitech driver in here - http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_9300.html
Also using Logitech software to run the camera with no problems - http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/US/EN,CRID=1794,contentid=12354
Please note that I am using XP Pro, NOT VISTA
Logitech or Bison?
