I have an Acer Aspire 3680 Notebook and generally use it like a desktop PC.

I'd like to leave it on for long periods of time without it going into Standby or Hibernation.

The Notebook recently reeached a temperature of 41C inside, i'm not sure what the threshold is but I think that's pretty close to it. I think the battery pack is giving off alot of heat when connected to the laptop. I don't want the battery pack to burn out or anything because it's constantly connected to the mains.

Can I unplug the battery pack as long as the Notebook is connected to the main power supply?
