I'm looking at picking up an AS1810T to replace my Samsung NC10 netbook and my HP DV8230US laptop.

I was looking at an MSI earlier due to its better warranty (3 years) and better price ($450 as opposed to $600)...but unfortunately, the lack of VT on the T6600 is a deal-breaker.

Does Acer have Virtualization enabled on the AS1810T? The SU7300 has it, but I want to make sure that there's nothing else that would prevent me from being able to use the laptop properly...as VMWare and XP Mode are requirements for what I'll be doing with it.

Yes, I have already successfully run the Windows XP mode from my 1810T.

Kind of funny since my E7500 desktop wasn't able to, unluckily I got one of the old E7500 CPUs that do not support Intel VT-x.

Excellent. Now it's just a matter of finding an Acer 11.6" to see if I can tolerate the keyboard

The entire E7xxx C2D line had VT disabled. Other than the L2 cache size, that's how it differentiated from the E8xxx C2D line.

    Cheers,
    Kermee

Here's a screen shot of Everest running on my Acer 1810T-8638.
As you can see both "Virtual Machine Extensions (Vanderpool)" and "Virtual Mode Extension" are checked.

One thing to keep in mind too is that not all 1810T are the same. Submodels can have different hardware. I found this out the hard way, way back when. Just make sure you see the CPU listed on the box thats going to support the Virtualization
