I'm currently trying to decide between a refurbished M5-481pt-6644 for $450, new v5-481p-6498 for $530, or new v5-582p-6858 for $599. (Click for links)

M5 and V5 481's are both 14"and basically the same specs (M5 has 2GB more RAM, same CPU, GPU, etc.), both have low-res 768p screens. M5 weighs about .3 lbs less than the V5, not sure about the difference in build quality/materials.

V5-582p has a 15" full 1080p display, and only weighs about .15 lbs heavier than the 14" V5-481 (according to the website), again 2GB less ram than M5-481. Also no DVD drive, but that's not an issue.

If I get either of the v5 models I'll probably put an SSD in it. The M5 comes with a 20GB+500GB SS Hybrid Drive, so I could probably live with that.

Does anyone have any of the above models and have any insight? I'm currently torn between the M5 and V5 14" models, I think the 15" might be a bit too big, but it is a really good price for a Full HD touchscreen... Thanks for any comments/input!

I've seen the screens on the M5 and they're pretty dim though supposedly really good battery life (even though it's last gen). The full 1080p screens of the V5 are gorgeous, but has a pretty crappy battery life. The V5s are pretty light, especially those without the DVD drive, but you still might not like it if you are carrying it around every day.
