Yes, it is that simple. However, you'll need several blank discs. It'll probably take 2-3 for the recovery discs and 1 for the driver disc. Also, it'll take several hours (2-3) to complete this whole process.

And you don't need CD, you need blank DVD media. And don't go cheap, get Verbatim if possible.

If you don't have blank DVD's handy or would prefer to store the backup DVD's as disc images on an external hard drive until needed, you can use VirtualCD as leedr mentions instead.

VirtualCD can essentially create a virtual burner drive that the eRecovery application can "write" to just as it would write to blank DVD media.

Only the trial of VirtualCD is required to do this.

Yes. Typically 3 DVD for the main backup set plus 1 DVD for the "drivers&applications" disc.
The recovery set of my 1810TZ occupies 10 GB on my HDD:
    Recovery disc 1 of 3: 4.1 GB
    Recovery disc 2 of 3: 3.9 GB
    Recovery disc 3 of 3: 0.9 GB
Applications & Driver disc: 1.3 GB

Or Phantom Drive from the same manufacturer, which is more lightweight. :)
