Hello, I have an Acer Aspire, 5100 with Windows XP Home. I am trying to make my external LCD monitor primary, but I can't seem to get it to work.

I have tried hitting the Fn+F5, Fn+F6 and pretty much any other Fn+F# combination, but nothing happens.

I was able to set up the external monitor as a second monitor which extends my desktop, but I just want to disable my laptop monitor and just use the external one only.

    Thanks for any help!

In display properties, monitor #1 is set to primary and the checkbox on both monitors is grayed out so I am unable to select monitor #2 as my primary.

I have ATI Catalyst Control Center, but I can't seem to get the control center to open up.
