One RAM memory slot of the Acer Aspire 9420/9410/7110 is accessible through the usual cover on the bottom of the machine (it's even mentioned on p68 of the owner's manual).

I understand the second RAM memory slot in the Acer Aspire is internal - on the top of the motherboard. I would like to upgrade the RAM and populate both slots.

I have removed the keyboard but still cannot see the slot or access the motherboard. There's a substantial plate covering almost everything. I would like to avoid complete dissasembly if possible.

Is there a guide to upgrading RAM in an Aspire 9420/9410/7110? Acer will not help because it involves opening up the machine.

    Nice one. Thanks James.

Unfortunately it sheds no light on the memory situation - but at least it will help with the demolition process!

my 7110 has both slots under the same ram bay cover just one is on top of the other acer. put one stick in and only use the top slot,
so the second slot is obscured by the top slot.

    what hoggie means is...

remove the installed RAM... and there should be an empty slot hidden under it
