Hi guys, need some help in getting the right memory for my notebook.
I purchased a Hynix PC2100 DDR266 SODIMM CL2.5 256MB for my Acer Travelmate 2303LCI notebook. After attaching the memory in the memory slot, the notebook displays a blank screen on startup.

I've looked over the internet and it seems the memory I bought is compatible with my notebook. But, I could be wrong. Could anyone help me out on this? Thanks !!!

My old notebook was a travelmate 2303wlci but the memory I used was DDR 333 PC2700 memory but AFAIK the notebook was backwards compatible with the slower DDR266 which you bought. Perhaps the ram module might be faulty, take it out and see if your notebook boots up using the old memory module you have and then check to see if it boots up with the new memory module alone (this is a good way to check for bad ram modules). If it doesn't boot with the new module alone then that new ram module might be faulty...

I've tried taking out the 1st 256MB memory, but it doesn't seem to budge at all. Its like stuck into the memory slot or something. By the way, the memory slot says 2.5 reverse, does that mean anything?
