Recently bought an Acer Aspire 2025 and absolutely love it. I'm in no way ready to upgrade but I do have a question that's been bothering me. There are two memory slots occupied by a 256mb stick of ram each. One can be accessed through the bottom of the notebook. Does anyone know how you go about upgrading the other stick of ram? Where is it located? How do you get to it? Do I have to take it to an Acer dealer to avoid voiding my warranty? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The other module is under the keyboard. There should be a coutle screws on the under side that should then release the keyboard. Just be careful when removing it.
A quick FYI... another user had the memory upgraded to 1 module from Acer, tried to upgrade using non-Acer memory to save money, but turned out they weren't compatible. It was because the CAS level of the Acer memory was 2 & the others he bought, which was supposed to be compatible, was 2.5 and this didn't work together. So, if you upgrade the memory yourself, make sure you get the same CAS speed for both.

Acer America emailed me some detailed instructions for accessing the memory stick under the keyboard for the AS2010 and 2020 notebooks. It also came with some pics that make it easier. I do not know if its possible to post the pics here, so in the meantime if you are interested in the instructions, I will email them to you. My email is [email protected].

A couple of good sites to start with when looking for that 7200 rpm hard drive are www.pricewatch.com and www.newegg.com. I do almost all of my pc shopping at newegg. Customers post a lot of reviews which can be helpful when trying to decide what to buy.
