    uses this spec memory

    200-Pin PC2700 (333Mhz) DDR SODIMM

    DDR PC2700 • CL=2.5 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR333 • 2.5V

Its rumoured that acers aspires are memory sensertive to what brands they use.

so does any one know what brands? and were to get them cheaper?

    UK based by the way

    Welcome to the forums :)

With both of my acers I always use crucial ram. It is always very compatible with acer computers check the crucial uk website here.

However DDR ram right now is more expensive than DDR2 simply because they don't make much of it now as most modern notebooks use DDR2, therefore they can charge a higher price per ram module. I am not sure if crucial offers the lowest prices you can get for a DDR ram module (in the UK) but the ram will work with your aspire.

I've used Patriot and Kingston memory in my Acers (5672 & 3680) without any issues. Any "name" brand memory should work with your laptop. PC3200 (400mhz) should work it, but it's speed will be reduced to the same as PC2700 (333mhz).
