Ok well I'm not sure if anybody else has had this problem, but i'm hoping somebody can help me. I have an Acer Aspire 5100 Series Model No: BL51

Last night when I was online, I accidently shut the lid, making it so it shut down my computer (I made the settings so it shuts down when I shut the lid). When I turned it back on to get back online, both the audio and modem said "Not Dected."

If I were to restore the system to manufactored state, I would loose everything. (Things that require a disk that I do not have any more, and have no money to buy).

Yesterday when i was on my modem and audio were working perfectly...it just seems that after I powered it off, neither have been working.

I've had this problem before and everytime I would solve it with pressing F12 when the computer was starting up and then clicking the first thing then clicking on "Start Windows Normally." but I've tried it like 10 times and it's not working this time...

    Please advice A.S.A.P!

Remove the battery and ac adapter for 10-15 minutes, then power the unit back on normally. Hope that helps.

Disconnect the power supply then press the power button. That always worked for me.
