Hi, I am new to this forum and has learned a great deal.

I have decided on the Acer Ferrari 3200 since and have that ordered.

I have read that most ppl seem to upgrade the 80GB 4200 rpm HD to a smaller 60GB 7200 rpm HD. Now, which other company other than the Hitachi (Travelstar 7k60) makes a 7200 rpm 60GB drive? The guy I am ordering the laptop from says he only sees a Toshiba 7200 rpm 60 gb drive available. Maybe that's the same one made by Hitachi?

Will I see a significant performance improvement with the new drive?

Also, I am planning to upgrade the ram to 1GB(1 stick), what type of ram do I need? I heard, don't know if it's true, that mixing different brands of ram is not good and might lead to the blue screen of death. So I am better off getting a 1 GB stick than 1 512MB to add to the existing one that comes with the laptop? I am not a computer hardware guru so who do you guys recommend?

I need to tell the guy what I need to check prices and order. Thanks for reading all those ??'s I have, thanks in advance.
