Everything is "smart" nowadays so it makes sense that the charging/power circuitry is software programmable and prone to human failure.

They say "Power Adapter". That's the brick that sits outside your laptop. And powers the thing.

AFAIK, The "brick" has absolutely no reason to talk or communicate with the BIOS in any way.

Thats why I say :nah: . Just does not make sense.

Yep they have the "power saving" adapter in Timeline.
Anyway Acer had it coming I had enough off their bs service.

The charging/power circuitry gets its power from the brick, so if the current is higher than the PSU can handle, it may overheat ;)

I think Acer meant "battery charging circuitry". Now that would make a lot more sense because it is part of the lappie and not the "brick" or PSU.

    Just my thoughts.

Anyway I got another simpler fix suggestion for the timeline for paranoid individuals: remove the harddisk and encase the wire in heat resistant plastic

Or maybe "heat shrink" tubing??.Perfect to sort the issue out.

Crazy scenario. Acer is blowing it big time by not thinking things through.....

And I believe they need to hire someone who can actually post a "warning" that doe's not confuse. Preferably someone who is English literate. Will help...

No need to bump this thread anymore - it's been added to the Recall sticky.

And Acer isn't "blowing it big time" with these recalls.
Burning cables? Hot AC adapters? Sure, they're cause for some alarm.
But at least their batteries aren't exploding. Remember THAT debacle?
And everyone involved in it seems to be doing just fine.

A small thanks for the recognition of finding it would of been nice (for me).

Guess it does not matter though. Good luck both TehSuigi and ATG.
You are both doing a sterling job :swoon: of ruining the forum. I meant running the Forum. Typo's today. Sorry.

My keyboard must be playing up again.

Happens everytime I remember good old solid days here. I am the only one left. The rest have bailed. For ever.

That's life. Never mind. I am a good person. Give crap when it's needed.

If people "in charge" canno't see it, then I don't know. Really.

Have fun and don't worry (my problem).
