Just last week, under the advice of an Acer tech, I used Acer Recovery to re-install XP, and my QSI dvd writer finally churned out ONE dvd perfectly fine with a RITEK dvd. Still didn't work with generic, but I was still ecstatic. However, just today, I made 3 coasters with the exact same batch of Ritek discs I used last time. This is ridiculous! Don't tell me everytime I want to write a disc, I gotta format XP! I cannot tell you how incredibly annoyed I am at Acer. And to think they said they haven't gotten any complaints; I've read all over the net of people complaining about Acer using QSI drives. I can't have any downtime and it really is such a pain to have to get it repaired. If Acer uses QSI in the future, they definitely won't be getting any business from me anymore.

I haven't heard any good things about QSI either.
I know things, things that could get me killed
