I recently tried to start up my Acer Travelmate (3 yrs old) and it wouldnt boot, it wouldnt even get to the BIOS, but i tried again and it booted up fine, stayed on for about 2 mins and then just reset itself. Now i can not get back into windows....does anyone know what is going on? i think it maybe the mother board but i am unsure...have tried removing RAM, HDD, BATTERY and still the same problem, the HDD is ok have checked it with another pc.

did you get the bootable disk with your travelmate ?
when this happend to me on an old 230 about a year ago it turned out to be the battery.which is now useless but the laptop works like a dream.i re'set the bios.take out battery unplug the mains.then hold down the start button for ten seconds.this will rest the bios.boot from the cd, if all this works let me know as it worked for me..... :D
