    Hi!
I have 5920G for about only 6 months.

My HDD temp is usually between 45-50 C, but just a while ago, it suddenly rising to 55-58 C!
As far as I know, 55 C is too high for HDD, that's why I'm so worried.
I already check the task manager, and nothing unusual. I wonder what make the HDD temp getting high.
I want to check the HDD fan, but I don't know how to do that...
    Help me please... :(

weird..maybe it's full. As far as i know u must leave at least 15% space of ur harddisk or it will perform slower and harder. And try defragmenting, i use diskeeper

Now it's idle in 51-52, when usually always below 50...

I've just defrag drive C (windows) 3 days ago. I might have to defrag the other drive...
I still have 30% free space in both drives.

Haha, yes I'm Indonesian and we can't use our language here... >__<"

    Btw, you own 5920G too...?
How's your HDD temp in idle? and its max temp (under load)?

I own 8920g. My max hdd temp is 45C, but it happens very rarely. Just when i move files around i think (i have lots of big files need to be ordered). You know, just buy a laptop cooler, acer is known to have bad reputation in motherboard temp. I'm planning to have one next month. Look up zalman NC1000 and nzxt cryolx

off topic: which city u live in? :D

    45 max?
    Good for you... :(

I also plan to buy a cooler. I've asked around and people recommend me to buy Notepal Infinite instead ( I thought Zalman is better and more expensive, but they said that Notepal Infinite is fit better and will do its work to the max for my 5920G).

    Off topic:
I live in Tangerang... and works in BSD. Still study in Binus though (graphic design course), next year I will graduate :p

    sudden climate changes? :p
try DIY cooler with those 12v fan, cooler but noisy :D

or as for notepal infinite, try find someone who has it and borrow it for a while, so no regret later ;)

at least notepal infinite keeping my hdd around 37 - 45 :D

That's the problem... no one has Notepal Infinite... :(

I wish someone can make a quick review about 5920G temp when using Notepal Infinite here...

Here are my temperatures with the notepal infinite:
    My config is:
    T9300 2.5GHz
    9500M GS 512MB DDR 2
    4GB Ram
    250GB 5400rpm Hitachi HDD

This temperatures are basically while idle (surfing net, listening to music, watching videos), but on max performance set in the ePower Management.

Oh and my ambient is pretty hot (maybe 25+C) as well, heater is broken (always on ).

PS. I am interested what are your temps while gaming (after 1h) on the VGA and CPU?

    what is your notebook...?

My 5920G temp when in normal use (winamp, firefox, and at least 1 design software running like Photoshop)

    CPU: 60-65 C
    CPU#1 & CPU#2: 58-63 C
    GPU: 63-66 C
HDD: 45-48 C, but lately it can reach 50 C...

After I use it for gaming about 1 hour:
    CPU: 75-80 C
    CPU#1 & CPU#2: 70-75 C
    GPU: 80-90 C
    HDD: 50-55 C

That's why I really need a perfect cooler for my notebook. I've asked and search around, find that Notepal Infinite fit the best for my 5920G (exhaust hole position etc). But I don't know about its performance...

Mine one is 5920G as well. The notepall infinite is a good all-round cooler because it spreads the flow around the whole bottom of your laptop. The flow on the edges is better than the flow in the middle, but seeing as the whole left side being the hotspot of the 5920G (CPU,GPU,HDD) this is pretty good. Its maybe just me and my cooler but i fell like the flow is actually better on the right side than on the left side (which doest make any sense since its 1x90mm cooler with "specially" designed vents to spread the flow). Another good point is that the intake of the cooler is actually on the back side so you can use your laptop on the bed, carpet etc.

About your temps, without the cooler my GPU actually can get even to 95C which is more than yours. What driver do you use? My issue is that my GPU should be cooler seeing as its newer revision of the chip and die shrink

    Oh, nice!
Then I can get the notepal without worry about its performance! :D

I use 180.70 DOX version. I want to change it to 180.84 DOX version but I still haven't download it... >__<

I use 180.70 DOX version as well. I guess i need to open my laptop and clean the vents or apply AS5 on the GPU. I wonder if thats going to void my warranty

As far as I know, open the case for change/add memory/RAM with ourself won't void the warranty, I even know this information from the acer center.

Ok thanx for the info. I was wondering because there wasnt any label that says something like "braking this label will void your warranty" but on 2 screws there is something like tape above them.

BTW here are my temps while playing COD4 (50min-1h) with VGA overclocked from 475/950/400 to 630/1500/480
    [IMG]
But according to GPU-Z max temp was around 92-93C

Ouch! Nice overclock! how u do that? Please give me step by step guide to overclock acer laptop...always want to do it with rivatuner, but classic problem still appears (after i enabled overclocking hardware and increase the clock then click apply, all 3 clocks go back to the default clock)

Btw, the things we have to increase are core and shader, right? Coz the difference between 8600 gt ddr3 and 9500m gs ddr2 is only shader and core clock. They both have the same memory clock but 8600 perform much better. I think by doing so, the temp will also be impacted.

Still reach 90C even after use the cooler?
Have you tried if you not use the cooler...?

I have 9500M GS DDR2 as well. The difference between 8600M GT ddr3 and 9500m gs ddr2 is exactly in the memory clock and 8600M GT DDR3>9500M GS DDR2>8600M GT DDR2. Sometimes the laptops have their clocks locked and other times its driver issue. I have dox modified drivers and i havent done nothing more than overclock the card using rivatuner and then test for artifacts with atitool. If your card is locked then try separating core and shader clocks and overclock the shaders only

Yeah but as you notice the card is overclocked like 32% for the core, 57% for the shaders and 20% for the memory which is quite a lot. I dont overclock without my cooler on and on stock clocks and without the cooler my max temperatures during load are again in the 90-95 range

Ok, how about the CPU temp after playing game for about 1-2 hours?

I played The Sims 2 (actually my girl did) for about 5 hours, and I just realize that the CPU temp reach 88 C!!!
I was shocked and quit the game... never reach 85 before for the CPU temp...

I like the nzxt cryolx only thing that I hate about coolers is all the fans are in the back and my heat is in the front.

I would think with the 3 big fans it would keep any laptop cool. Also all the usb ports so if your laptop lacks ports it has enough.
