I'm a big fan of the "Dolby Headphone" feature on my Aspire and I'd like to try out the Sound Space Expander (which, if I assume correctly, is pretty much the same feature just designed with stereo speakers in mind). The problem is that my stereo speakers are connected to my laptop via 1/8" male/male stereo audio jack (TRS - the kind like headphones have) where it goes from the Headphone/SPDIF connector to the input on my stereo. This causes my laptop to assume that headphones are currently connected to it and removes the "Sound Space Expander" option and replaces it with "Dolby Headphone"

Does anyone know if there's a way for me to let the laptop know that I'm using speakers rather than headphones?

Btw, I'm running on W7 Ultimate with all the latest drivers.
